Dashboard & Performance

The Basecamp dashboard is a grid of widgets that track your training independently of any plan. This page covers what each widget shows and how to read it.

Several of these charts also appear inside a Training Plan, where they add the plan's projections. See Training Plan — Plan Overview for that context.


Using the dashboard

Adding and removing widgets — open the widget drawer to toggle any of Training Summary, Training Load Focus, Volume by Zone, Training Load, Activity Streaks, Recent Activities, Aerobic Status, Aerobic Efficiency, Body Composition, Activity Explorer, Race Goals, Running Tolerance, Fitness Trend, and Training Plans.

Reordering and resizing — drag widgets to reorder. Some support half or full width.

Linking a plan — widgets such as Fitness Trend can be pointed at a training event to add its projections.

Sync timing — the dashboard reads your synced activities. A run appears once the Strava sync that carries it has finished.


Training Load Focus

Training Load Focus shows recent intensity distribution across 3 categories:

Rolling window — switch between 1, 4, 12, and 24 weeks.

Target ranges — each bar shows your percentage against the target for your current training phase, labeled balanced, low, or high.

A category running short is a planning signal, not an instruction to add a hard session. Read it alongside fatigue, upcoming events, and how you feel.


Training Load

Training Load shows weekly bTSS (Basecamp Training Stress Score) as stacked bars, split by intensity category.

Actual and projected — blue and green bars are completed weeks. Purple bars are the load an active plan prescribes for weeks ahead.

Reading it — rising bars with consistent progression mean load is building. A bar well above the recent run of weeks is worth extra recovery.


Training Status

Training Status compares your recent load against the baseline implied by your fitness (CTL):

This is a planning signal. Weigh sleep, soreness, illness, and how you feel before changing anything.


Running Tolerance

Running Tolerance tracks how much weekly training stress your body has recently adapted to carry. It combines your actual training with an intensity-aware impact model.

On the dashboard it shows history only. Inside a Training Plan it adds the plan's projected volume, so you can check that the progression is gradual.

Distance / Hours — switch between distance and time on feet.

Load ratio — this week's Impact Load against your Tolerance. Around 1.0 means you are training close to your recent baseline; above 1.3 is worth a look.

Fitness Trend

Fitness Trend plots 3 modeled values over time:

Solid lines are history. Dashed lines are projections under the selected scenario.

Scenarios — Light Taper (recommended), Normal Training, or Full Rest, to see how each shapes race-day fitness and freshness.

Plan selector — point the widget at a training event. Without one, the chart shows history only.

Minimum data — the trend appears once you have 3 weeks of synced activities.

A high TSB after extended rest does not mean improved fitness. It can equally mean deconditioning, so read TSB against CTL rather than on its own.


The other widgets

Training Summary — total hours, distance, elevation, and activity count for recent periods.

Volume by Zone — weekly hours split by Johnston zone.

Activity Streaks — consecutive days or weeks with an activity.

Aerobic Status — your current aerobic development indicators.

Aerobic Efficiency — your speed against the heart rate needed to produce it. A sustained rise usually means aerobic fitness is improving; heat, fatigue, terrain, and incomplete data can push it down temporarily. Read the trend across weeks, not single activities.

Body Composition — weight and body composition over time.

Activity Explorer — a map-based browser for your activities by location.

Recent Activities — your latest synced activities with distance, duration, and key metrics.

Race Goals — goal progress and projected finish times for your target events.

Training Plans — your active plan and its current progress.
