Grocery List
Select recipes and the grocery list combines their ingredients into one list, adding quantities together wherever the units allow. Items sit in 3 tabs: To Buy, Already Have, and Bought. This page covers building a list and shopping from it.
The list is worth using before you cook, not only on the way to the store. Because shared ingredients collapse into a single line, selecting a few candidate recipes shows you how much they overlap — which is usually the difference between one trip and three.

Select recipes
The left panel on desktop, or the dropdown on mobile, lists every recipe with a checkbox.
- Search to filter by name.
- Select All / Deselect All for the whole list.
- Create recipe if you need one that does not exist yet.
- To start from an event instead, open the event and select Grocery List.
Empty states:
- No recipes: "No recipes yet. Create your first recipe to get started."
- No matches: "No recipes found matching…"
- Nothing selected: "Select recipes to generate your grocery list."
To Buy
Everything from the selected recipes that you need to buy, with quantities consolidated wherever units are compatible. An ingredient used by 3 recipes appears once, at the total you need.
- U.S. Standard / Metric switches the display units.
- Mark Bought moves an item to Bought.
- Already Have moves an item to Already Have.
Already Have
Ingredients you already keep at home — either marked Already Have on the ingredient itself, or moved here from To Buy. Marking your cupboard staples once on the ingredient keeps them out of every future list, so To Buy stays what you need.
- Move to Buy sends an item back if you need it after all.
Bought
What you have checked off on this trip.
- Mark as Done clears the bought items and resets the recipe selection, closing out the shopping session.
