Frequently Asked Questions

The questions that come up most often, grouped by subject.

General

What is Minou?

A personal planning app with a marketplace of smaller apps for the parts of life worth keeping track of.

Three are open today: Basecamp reads your Strava history and reports what your training is doing, Finance compares financial independence scenarios, and Gatherings turns a dinner into a grocery list. You switch on the ones you want and leave the rest off.

What does it cost?

Nothing while it is this early. If that changes, you will hear about it before it happens.

How do I get in?

Join the waitlist and we'll be in touch as more spots open up. You can also write to support@minou.io.

Where does it run?

In the browser. It is built for desktop and works on mobile.

What is a workspace?

The container for your data — activities, goals, plans, scenarios, recipes, and events. Every account starts with one. Create more to keep separate contexts apart, and invite other people into any of them. See Workspace.

Basecamp

What does Basecamp do?

It connects to Strava, syncs your activities, and applies physiological models to report training load, race readiness, and progress. See Basecamp.

Do I need a Strava account?

For Basecamp, yes — that is where the activity history comes from. Finance and Gatherings work without it.

What does Minou read from Strava?

Activity metrics: distance, duration, elevation, heart rate, pace, cadence, power, calories, and route polylines. Minou never modifies, deletes, or posts to your Strava account. See the Privacy Policy.

How often do activities sync?

Opening the Basecamp dashboard checks for new activities when the last sync is more than 15 minutes old, and a Strava webhook picks up new activities shortly after they are recorded. You can start a manual sync from Basecamp Settings at any time. See Strava Sync.

What is the Johnston 4-zone model?

A heart-rate zone model from Training for the Uphill Athlete that uses your aerobic threshold (AeT) and anaerobic threshold (AnT) to define 4 zones. See Heart Rate Zones.

How are race times projected?

From your most recent LT2 pace, scaled to the target distance with the Riegel formula, plus an elevation adjustment for mountain races. It is a modeled time on current fitness, not a prediction of race day. See Race Goals.

Can I delete my synced activities?

Yes. Under Basecamp Settings → Connections → Danger Zone, Delete Activities permanently removes every synced activity, best effort, and drift test in this workspace. Your data on Strava is untouched. See Delete Synced Activities.

Account and settings

How do I sign in?

Enter your email on the sign-in page. A sign-in link arrives in your inbox; there is no password.

How do I switch between metric and imperial?

In your Profile, use the Measurement System toggle. Distance, elevation, pace, and weight can also be set individually.

Can I disconnect Strava?

Yes, from Basecamp Settings. Disconnecting stops future syncs and leaves activities already stored in Minou in place.

How do I delete my account?

You can disconnect integrations and delete workspace data from Settings at any time. For full account deletion, write to support@minou.io.
